You Will Make It Through The Tough Times

Each of our lives have moments of life, death, happiness, sorrow, wins and losses.

We need to go through each phase of life, but not get bogged down.

We need to have unshakeable joy. Joy isn't fake happiness. Joy is knowing that despite horrible circumstances, you know you will make it through and you will eventually be ok.

When tough times come, don't let them derail your life.

Feel the emotions, work through it, and find hope in the circumstances.

Even in the darkness, you can find hope shining down on you, just remember to look up and see it.

You will make it through.

September Joy Dare

Take some time to slow down and find the

gifts in each day!

 For Today.....3 gifts cut....
fresh cut oregano and basil out of my garden,
a bouquet of roses from my hubby,
fresh veggies out of the garden for dinner.

It's A Choice

Each day we have choices to make about how we will handle the day and what  we do with our time.

What will you choose?

Let.It.Go

There is enough heartache and sorrow in this life without our adding to it through our own stubbornness, bitterness, and resentment. –Dieter F. Uchdorf

Seeds of bitterness, left unchecked, can harbor into a full-blown anger that consumes us. It festers and eats away at us.  It destroys our happiness and steals our joy.  Ultimately, bitterness only hurts ourselves, and not the person we are angry with.  Letting go of bitterness is a conscious, intentional act.  Letting go of bitterness restores our joy, and gives us freedom to truly live life again.

Do You See It?

Stop.

Put your phone or tablet down.

Step outside.

Take a deep breath.

Now, look around.

Do you see it?

Do you see the flowers, the clouds, the green grass, maybe a butterfly or bird flying by?

Don't miss the beauty that surrounds you, everyday.

Relax.

Take it in, and let the stress of life go as you breathe in the simple, yet oh so complex,
beauty of creation.

Priorities In Life

We spend too much time trying to keep up, with everything, everyone, and social media.

Our lives move very fast.

Too fast.

When we give in to keeping up with the world and the speed it moves at, we lose a lot.

We lose precious moments that can never be recaptured.

We lose memories that can never be relived.

We lose the ability to have meaningful conversations, face to face.

We lose relationships. We forget that real life friendships matter.

We lose joy.

We lose hope.

We forget that people matter because the tasks of busyness take over.

Take time to disconnect, slow down, and say no, to say yes to what really matters in life.

June Joy Dare

Sorry this is a couple days late.  My nieces spent a long weekend with us, and we were busy making memories and enjoying the daily adventures of life.  I hope you take time to build precious memories with your loved ones, as well.

June Joy Dare, find the joy in the every day life around you!

The Dance

I don’t want to miss the dance.  I get hung up on so many things in life,  worrying about what I will never do or achieve or have. But I don’t want to miss the dance. I want to love my spouse, care for my kids, and give life to my friends. I want to do the work God made me to do. I want   to love God and the world he made. I want to do my part to help it flourish, for my spiritual maturity is not measured by following rules. “The me God made me to be” is measured by my capacity to love. When we live in love, we flourish. That is the dance.
– John Ortberg, The Me I want to Be

How many times do we miss the dance?
How many times do we turn away, quit trying, because we’re tired,  lonely, or forgot why we                         even cared in the first place?
The world can be a difficult place to live at times. We need each other.
God wants us to love each other, serve each other.  He is asking us to dance without fear, so take                     the first step and enjoy the dance.

Advice From A Friend

The following is advice from a friend of ours, only in his early 40's, who is in a battle with ALS:

"Don't spend your day tied up with electronics. Go out and see the beauty of nature! Unplug and enjoy the moments."

"Your family deserves the best you, you can be."

"Never miss a chance to laugh or say I'm sorry.  Never hold back your tears, they are cleansing. Never ever miss a chance to say I love you."

"Life is full of choices. For instance: my prognosis is death but I see it as an ETA. It's all in how you view it. You have to make a choice!"

Live each moment of your life, don't waste it on electronics.  Love deeply.  Laugh.  Forgive.  Apologize.  Don't take one moment of life, family, faith for granted.

Let. It. Go

Worry strips away joy.  Worry puts us in a false reality, often making things worse than they truly are.  Worry destroys our lives.

Today, decide to let worry go.  Push it out of your life, and close and lock the door behind it.  Work hard to keep it out of your life.  As soon as you find worry creeping back in, actively take steps to overcome it, and send it out of your life.

Focus instead on joy, love, laughter, and gratefully live every moment of this life you are given. Live with purpose and passion, and leave loving footprints on the lives of everyone you encounter.

Look Forward

Is winter getting you down,
as it does many this time of year?

Is your heart needing something to look forward to today?

Plan a garden, a Summer vacation, plan a family time that will be filled with memories.

You can plan an inexpensive family fun time  if you use resources and your imagination.

Take some time today to look forward to Summer and plan something that will bring your heart joy.

Change Your View

Perspective affects our lives.

Do you tend to complain and be angry, or do you try to speak words that are uplifting and helpful?  Are your words negative, or words of praise and thankfulness?  This world is filled with sadness, ugliness, and hurt, but it's also filled with joy, beauty, and healing.  Which do you focus on?  Which do you you speak?

What is your perspective?

Where we place our trust greatly affects our perspective.  Is your trust placed in yourself, the powers of this world, in others, or in God?  God makes a difference.  He is in control.  He will change your perspective if you truly place your trust in Him.

Do you need to change your perspective today?  What will you do to change your view?  What steps can you take to see the dandelions as wishes instead of weeds?

100 Days To A Better You, Gratitude

Want to improve you? Write down 5-10 things that you’re grateful for every day. Gratitude brings joy to your life by helping you see things from a different perspective.
