Rehydrate Your Soul

Take some time away from your phone, TV, computer, and just be quiet. It's good to rehydrate your soul.

The Acid of Over-Activity

The acid of over-activity eats holes in our souls. From those holes leaks the cry of the calling that never quite happened.

We said yes to so much that we missed what I call our Best Yes assignments — simply because we didn’t heed the warning of the whispers within us begging to reassess and breathe. ~

Keep Moving Forward

Remember how far you’ve come, not just how far you have to go. You are not where you want to be, but neither are you where you used to be. God isn’t finished with you, so keep on moving forward. ~Rick Warren

Random Acts Of Kindness

When is the last time you did a random act of kindness? It will not only bless those you give to, but it will bless you. Involve your kids, grandkids, neighbor kids, nieces, nephews, friends and teach kids about kindness & unselfish giving while you do this.

I am issuing a challenge for the rest of the summer, approximately 13 weeks, to think of RAOK (random acts of kindness) and to implement at least one a week. I will post some ideas, please join me in posting your ideas & results.

Priorities In Life

We spend too much time trying to keep up, with everything, everyone, and social media.

Our lives move very fast.

Too fast.

When we give in to keeping up with the world and the speed it moves at, we lose a lot.

We lose precious moments that can never be recaptured.

We lose memories that can never be relived.

We lose the ability to have meaningful conversations, face to face.

We lose relationships. We forget that real life friendships matter.

We lose joy.

We lose hope.

We forget that people matter because the tasks of busyness take over.

Take time to disconnect, slow down, and say no, to say yes to what really matters in life.

Do Something Wonderful

Change comes when we are different than the world.

Be kind.

Be generous.

Be loving.

Give.

Serve.

Laugh.

Have hope.

Let your life be one that will make a positive difference in the world.

The Dance

I don’t want to miss the dance.  I get hung up on so many things in life,  worrying about what I will never do or achieve or have. But I don’t want to miss the dance. I want to love my spouse, care for my kids, and give life to my friends. I want to do the work God made me to do. I want   to love God and the world he made. I want to do my part to help it flourish, for my spiritual maturity is not measured by following rules. “The me God made me to be” is measured by my capacity to love. When we live in love, we flourish. That is the dance.
– John Ortberg, The Me I want to Be

How many times do we miss the dance?
How many times do we turn away, quit trying, because we’re tired,  lonely, or forgot why we                         even cared in the first place?
The world can be a difficult place to live at times. We need each other.
God wants us to love each other, serve each other.  He is asking us to dance without fear, so take                     the first step and enjoy the dance.

Battle For The Mind

Most of the battles in life are won or lost in our mind. To overcome those battles, we need to learn to control our anxiety, fear, and negative self talk.

Our beliefs affect how we act. We first need to examine what we believe, and make changes where needed. When we change our thinking, changing our behavior will come much easier.

Thought Checklist

Do your thoughts need to be trained? We can overcome thoughts that are harmful to us, but just like anything else worth accomplishing, we have to train ourselves to do it.

Let. It. Go

Worry strips away joy.  Worry puts us in a false reality, often making things worse than they truly are.  Worry destroys our lives.

Today, decide to let worry go.  Push it out of your life, and close and lock the door behind it.  Work hard to keep it out of your life.  As soon as you find worry creeping back in, actively take steps to overcome it, and send it out of your life.

Focus instead on joy, love, laughter, and gratefully live every moment of this life you are given. Live with purpose and passion, and leave loving footprints on the lives of everyone you encounter.

What Are Your Motives?

What are your motives for doing things for others?  Is it so you get the credit, or is to to serve, not expecting anything in return?

We all have a choice on whether we take all the glory for ourselves, or are humble and give God the glory.  We have a choice on whether we like to point out how great we are, and what we do, or if we serve others quietly, and let God be the center of our serving.
