30 Day Challenge

As I finish up the 30 days of thanks, having missed a couple days because I have been spending the time with family, I want to challenge each one reading this to live a life of gratitude and thanks each day.  Look for the gifts around you, and be thankful.  A life of gratitude makes the heart be filled with joy.  It puts our focus on the good in life, not the bad.    I am not saying to live in a false reality and pretend  tough times aren't happening when they do.  I am just challenging each one of us to find a daily gift, a small joy, to see the blessings in life despite the difficulties we all face.

Gifts For Today

A gift silent, a gift still, a gift strong.

Silent leaves tumbling to the ground and dancing across the landscape. The stillness in a lake, calm and peaceful. Strong coffee.

Gifts For Today

Gifts for Today

Find 3 things undervalued or overlooked.

Time is undervalued, as we waste a lot of it doing meaningless things when time is truly precious.

Face to face relationships are overlooked and undervalued.  Nothing can replace sitting with someone and talking face to face, seeing emotions, sharing a laugh or tears.

Rest is both overlooked and undervalued in our overly busy world.  We need to take time to rest, and disconnect from technology every day.  Our bodies and minds are tired, exhausted, and need to be refueled and  still.

3 Gifts of Slowing Down

The soul of the family is at risk when the family becomes overstretched & overcommitted leading to underconnection. Today go against the flow...Slow Down. ~Dr. Jim Burns

Today....3 ways you will slow down this weekend and enjoy life, enjoy family, enjoy the beauty that surrounds us.

Take time to let the to do lists wait, and spend time disconnecting from technology, disconnecting from busyness, and reconnecting with those you love.

I have a busy weekend with working at a penny carnival at church, and our life group kicking off, but we are going to have family dinner time on Sunday. I plan to enjoy a beautiful Fall drive, where the colors are starting to get really beautiful. While the penny carnival will busy, I plan to thoroughly enjoy it and have a fun time.

3 Gifts

For October 3rd, I am doing a gifts challenge again.

Find 3 things in your day, or that are present in your life.

3 gifts of hope

True hope for me lies in the fact that God is in control, and because of trust in Jesus, I have hope that lasts for ever.

I hope for health and healing for my loved ones facing life altering diseases.

Sunsets fill me with hope and peace.

September Challenge, See the Gifts, Day 26

Gifts Challenge

3 Gifts Accomplished or Overcome

I have never liked heights, especially over water.  On my birthday, I overcame a long time fear, and walked across the swinging bridge that goes over Kootenai Falls.  I had to walk across, then walk back.   The first few steps were pretty terrifying but I was determined to overcome the fear, and I did.

18 months ago, I finally accomplished getting a degree and a diploma in higher education.  I started the journey after high school, but did not finish college at that time.  It felt great to finally finish that journey!

I have been accomplishing a work out regime since mid-March.   I have a ways to go, but I have accomplished a routine of working out and feeling better.

September Challenge, See the Gifts, Day 25

Today's gift challenge

3 Gifts Restored

Restore-to refresh, renew, repair, revive, re-establish

Trust, through some new friendships.

My faith has been restored, revived, through digging deeper into God's word and getting in groups with people who challenge me to grow.

My life has been restored, renewed, redeemed because of putting my faith in Jesus.
